Singing Lessons

An accomplished vocalist and theatre professional, Lisa comes to RAPA with an extensive knowledge and experience in vocal technique. Lisa is a graduate of York University where she was a featured soloist with the Chamber Choir. While still a student, she played the title role of Galatea in Handel?s ?Acis and Galatea? opposite Steven Page of The Barenaked Ladies. She was also fortunate enough to be a part of the final musical theatre program at the Banff Centre of Fine Arts and continues to find herself working with many of those with whom she studied. Lisa has taught voice privately, and in small studios, as well as teaching drama for children. A musical theatre veteran of over 30 years, Lisa is an accomplished singer in many styles of music including classical, musical theatre and jazz. Her career has provided her the opportunity to work with some of the finest directors, musical directors and choreographers and has seen her share the stage with some of North America?s most acclaimed artists and musicians including Fiona Reid, Betty Buckley, Melissa Manchester, Marin Mazzie and Colm Wilkinson. Lisa?s career has taken her from coast to coast in both Canada and the United States. Favourite credits include Les Miserables, Sweeney Todd, You?re a Good Man Charlie Brown, Napoleon (original soundtrack recording) and an international tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber?s ?Music of the Night? in which she was a featured vocalist. A versatile singer, Lisa has had the opportunity to participate in the development of many new musicals and is sought out as a private voice teacher by many professionals in the Toronto area. A talented musician, Lisa recorded a jazz/cabaret CD with Juno nominated composer/pianist/arranger Jeff Johnston, which was released to critical acclaim and extensive radio play with CBC and Jazz FM 91.1. Lisa continues to develop her own cabarets and has performed them on stages throughout North America.
