Michael Reinhart



Michael Reinhart is a theatre/performance creator, performance scholar and theatre instructor. His work (both creative and academic) is based in exploring interdisciplinary art-making and collective-driven devised theatre creation. Much of this exploration, research and creative output has occurred through his work with [elephants] collective and Boundary Conditions/Performance Assembly, both of which he is a founding member. Select recent projects include: Operations (1945-2006): Movements (bc/pa, Nuit Blanche 2018), 4 ½ (ig)noble truths (Why Not Theatre – Pi Theatre 2019, In the Soil 2018, UNO Festival 2017, Theatre Centre 2016, SummerWorks 2016), A Wake for Lost Time ([elephants] collective - Katzman Contemporary 2017, DaPoPo Live-In Festival 2016, SummerWorks 2015), Surplus Party Guest ([elephants] collective - Katzman Contemporary 2016), A Kitchen Sink Drama ([elephants] collective - Rhubarb Festival 2016), and Stare.Print.Blue (digifest 2015 & Open Spaces: SURVIVAL Festival, Berlin 2014). Michael teaches at the Randolph College for the Performing Arts, Brock University and the University of Toronto. He also sometimes tries to write his PhD.
