John Cleland

John Cleland is a Dora-Award winning actor who cut his professional teeth at the Shaw Festival and has worked at every major theatre in Toronto and many across Ontario and Canada. After completing an Honours English degree from Dalhousie University, he co-founded a theatre company in Halifax called Chestnut Tree. Since then, John’s career has involved originating numerous roles in new Canadian works and playing both heroes and villains in the English classical canon. In addition to film and TV, John has 15 years experience in voice, cartoons, and radio dramas, notably 6 seasons as Lte. Petrovsky on CBC’s Afghanada and 10 years as the voice of Ford Canada. However, he is most proud of his role as a Dad and of finding a good work/life balance. John is excited to be joining the Randolph Academy faculty in the Shakespeare department.
